Sometimes late at night
I lie awake and watch her sleeping
She’s lost in peaceful dreams
So I turn out the lights and lay there in the dark
And the thought crosses my mind
If I never wake up in the morning
Would she ever doubt the way I feel
About her in my heart
If tomorrow never comes
Will she know how much I loved her
Did I try in every way
To show her every day
That she’s my only one
If my time on earth were through
And she must face the world without me
Is the love I gave her in the past
Gonna be enough to last
‘Cause I’ve lost loved ones in my life
Who never knew how much I loved them
Now I live with the regret
That my true feelings for them never were revealed
So I made a promise to myself
To say each day how much she means to me
And avoid that circumstance
Where there’s no second chance
To tell her how I feel
If tomorrow never comes
Will she know how much I loved her
Did I try in every way
To show her every day
That she’s my only one
If my time on earth were through
And she must face the world without me
Is the love I gave her in the past
Gonna be enough to last
If tomorrow never comes
So tell that someone that you love
Just what you’re thinking of
If tomorrow never comes
– Ronan Keating
I love that song..I didn’t know it before Ronan Keating covered it, but it made me think and I think it actually inspired me to do some (good) things I wouldn’t have done if I hadn’t heard that song :]
.. it’s beautiful ((((((((((( Gabriel))))))))) !
Garth Brooks did the original, I believe. I’m not a country music fan, but that song gives me goosebumps. I don’t even know who the heck Ronan Keating is except he’s big in Europe? LoL
Ashley, I sort of guessed it wasn’t an original from Ronan Keating and yes he’s big in Europe, and kinda cute LOL. Puting this here was sort of a “heat of the moment” thing as I was laying beside Sunna on the living room couch (we fell asleep in front of the TV) and this song came on… It says what I was thinking…
I do listen to country music but well I guess I’m more into the lyrics of the “morden day” music than the music it self… (makes me feel old to say that LOL) and country music has lots of very good goosbumbs triggering lyrics…
Yesterday, I heard that beautiful song on the radio, when I was on the road back home from a hard day. Anything runned through my head and I thought about the suffers of life and the way, to be able, to stand them. But suddenly the noise of all the cars and machines around me turned into a sound of silence, when I heard the first sounds of that song coming out of the speakers. It seemed, that my life got a change at this moment, during I listened to a voice, who talked to me and let me think the only important thing: And if tomorrow never comes…..
