This entry is my reply to previous post’s comments… so I guess you should read that and the comments there before you read this one if you haven’t already…

I knew I would get in trouble for posting it yesterday but yet I did…. I am not here to argue religion or tell people what they should or should not believe… What brought me to post this entry yesterday was a thread in a forum…or threads in two forums actually that I/we frequently visit… Both of those threads were started because of someone in CA wants “under god” removed from the Pledge of Allegiance… I tried to have stay out of those discussions since I am not living in the US… but I do think that in a country where there are people with more than one religion should not connect one god or religion to something that is supposed to connect the people of that country together…

Both my parents were raised as Catholics… and I guess in a way I was too… however my upbringing wasn’t the normal way for a child to be brought up… If any of you had know my mother she would have appeared to you as a normal person who believed in god and she would have seemed a charming person and you would have liked her… Everybody who knew her did… everybody who didn’t have to live with her everyday did…

To me she was evil… maybe not at the time but now it does… She believed that I was evil… she believed that her first born, my older brother was evil too and when he died his “evil powers” were brought on to me… and it was hers to hold our evil powers under control…. This probably sounds like something from the exorcist or something but oh well this was who she was… All of the abuse and torture she made me go through was “gods will”… that’s how she justified it… I know that no god would have allowed the things she did… I know that she and her beliefs are the “bad one” in here… but I refuse to belief in a god or any other higher power that allows children to be tortured… or where people justify everything by saying it was “god’s will” or for that matter that something is caused by satan… I believe it is we, the people who live in this world that have “the power”… It is ours to do things to make the world a better place… for everyone… We don’t do that by saying that someone’s idea/belief is wrong or that my idea/belief is better than the next person’s… I don’t know if my entry yesterday seemed like I was doing that… It wasn’t indented to do that… and I’m sorry if I have offended anyone by it…

Bea… your comment made a lot of sense to me… The last part of it especially as that is what I was wondering about… the question of “going to hell” I once came across a website, written by someone who truly believed that all people who didn’t belief in god would go to hell… and stated on the page it was that person call in life to make sure to safe people from burning in hell.. as she/he put it… She mentioned groups of people… like homosexuals, people with mental problems… she/he specifically mentioned… multiples… people with physical illnesses like cancer or any other physical illness…. and “if those people” would “see the light” it would be the cure for all their problems… (hmmm I wonder why we need doctors and medicine) I know that these are just beliefs of one person but again I come to the very thing that I have written about so many times before… there is a BIG difference in starting a sentence saying “There is…” and “I believe…” “or “in my opinion….”
Bri… I love you and you know it (I hope) 🙂 I know I have asked you and Carrie lots of silly questions about god and religion… Sorry u feel i’m mislead LOL but well i don’t seem myself as christian but still I feel that it is my duty as a person and a part of this world to love other people and not look down on people…
saucy… I’m not sure whom you are asking this question…

Sandee… sweet and short and so very right… 🙂

Nanzce… You are very special person… I know that you believe very strongly about god and I think that is wonderful that you do… I don’t think all christians are fanatics for believing in god and jesus… However I do feel that many people… not just christians… feel that what they belief or feel is the “only right thing” and that they look down on those who don’t agree with them… Again… I feel there is a big difference between saying… “there is…” and saying… “In my opinion….” It’s probably silly of my…but I do take things very personally when someone says to me… “you are wrong…for whatever reason” instead of saying… “I feel that you are wrong….. for what ever reason”…
I hear it often that because :we: choose to live together in one body and not be integrated that “I” am doing the wrong thing… I hear it often that just because I sometimes feel attracted to both men and women that I am bad but because I am married to a woman I’ve “seen the error of my way” *shudder*

“Heaven” as such and eternal life are parts of many religion… I don’t know if I believe in life after death… I want to in a way… I want to believe that for my children, for all the people that I have loved and are not living… I even refer to my children as my angels many times… but to me they are not angels in religious meaning of the word…

Although I’m not sure if I want an eternal life for myself I want to believe that I may one day meet my children and not be judged by this life in order to do so… If that is the case there is no way for that ever happening…

Kyle… I used to think about this…about going to “hell”… at one point in my life I thought I was already in hell… and thought if this wasn’t hell the “real hell” couldn’t at least be any worse .. but for what it’s worth your comment cracked me up… (don’t ask me why LOL …I’m weird I guess)
