Mena at sixapart (aka MovableType) is asking people how they are using MovableType…

As it is I have 19 blogs and 28 authors listed in my MT install…

I have 4 domains all of which are hosted on the same server and therefore I have the technical ability to use one mt install for all my domains… How ever one of those domains will probably be using a separated install of MT of course… that was the plan anyway…but the plan was… art blog for people healing from mental disorders… multiple authors one blog for each art form… stories, poetry, graphics, photography added (already have over 20 people that have asked to be a part of it)

For this domain (The Thought-Space) I am using 8 blogs:
1. The journal… (you are reading it)
2. Includes… everything you see in the sidebars… but they are either index templates (bits with MT tags in them) and individual archives (those that don’t have any MT tags)
3. “Extra” pages… such as the about pages and more
4. lifestory… this site is at a different address (http://lifestory.thought-space.com) pages built with MT individual entries
5. on the side (password protected) A journal that only i can read
6. Blog i used for links a while back… and planed to use again after a work i’ve been doing on this site for the last month or so
7. terminology…. can be seen in use in this entry
8. guestbook (i haven’t launched this one yet but i planed to after redoing this site)

On my second domain, ourhidingplace.com… I’m using 9 blogs but most of them are password protected and out of the public eye…

I/we have 6 blogs: …one that is posted by all of us… one that is only posted in by our children… and then 3 that are posted in by individuals in our household

The 7th blog, gentedellaluna (exrapages) about us… this site used to be a part of this domain but we are working on moving it… and expanding it and then it will be on ourhidingplace.com

Then there are 2 blogs that are posted in by my family…. My wife has one blog (password protected and with no access except me and her… Then we have a “family blog” where everyone post in… my wife and I, and our two oldest daughters post but the younger two are still too young 😉 but of course the plan is/was to have then post there as well in the future

On my 3rd domain sleepflower.org I have two blogs… one for updates and one for pages…

I have nothing against paying for MT… I love it and I everybody who knows me know I love working on this site… and that it is a big part of my life… how ever I have one minor problem which I have already asked about by submitting a question through the movabletype website… The thing is that I don’t have a credit card… ( I won’t try to explain here why that is but I do have a very good reason ) …ok so I asked if there was anyway to pay for MovableType differently… but the answer I got was short and simple… “Sorry, you do need to purchase with a credit card through our system.” :-/

Like I said I have nothing against paying for it… I would however not be willing to pay more than those 70 dollars (which is quite a sum from my non US pocket… even for a good software as MT)….

That isn’t really my biggest problem with upgrading… my biggest problem is the author restrictions… But I wonder how my authors (minus my family) would be classified…. And now for those who don’t know me this will sound like I am a crazy person…. I never said I wasn’t though ;)… I am multiple… (you might know that as having dissociative Identity disorder or Multiple personality disorder…) This is part of who “we” are (of who I am) and to me this is natural… Unfortunately there are people out there that don’t feel that way and therefore the blogs that we post in under our names/authors are password protected… (accessible by close friends, family and our therapist)

…Now I wonder… how are those authors classified?… Are authors classified as one body… one author… or is it one name…one author?
Lets say it’s one author per body… that leaves me with 4 authors on my current install of MT (not counting my 4th domain which is still only a plan anyway)…

…On the blogs… according to this post I’m not sure how to count this as there are several blogs that are active but password protected… but I guess that might depend on how the authors are counted…. or ???
